Amanda is the owner of ADH Communications Consulting, and is a desmoid tumor patient. She is a published author, editor, and avid supporter of the arts, having danced competitively through her teens. She continued dancing in college, but in 2006 at the age of 21, she was diagnosed with a desmoid tumor in her calf muscle. She still lives with the disease.
In 2009, Amanda found the DTRF. Eager to do what she could to help find a cure, Amanda volunteered her professional skills to the Foundation. She was the Marketing Chair for the inaugural DTRF RFA 5K & Fun Run in 2010 and has served on the RFA Committee each year since. After seven years with the government consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, Amanda launched her consulting business as a result of her love for the pro bono work she was doing for the DTRF. Since 2014, she has been helping organizations making the world a better place turn their target audience into advocates for their cause.
From 2016 to early 2023, Amanda was the strategic communications & marketing consultant for the DTRF, providing cross-platform communications strategy, multimedia content development and social media management services. She transitioned to assist the Foundation in their efforts to launch a refreshed brand and website that better serves the community. She is honored to work with the dedicated team at the DTRF.
Amanda holds a B.A. in Journalism from American University in Washington, DC. She currently lives a location-independent life of travel with her unwavering partner, Jay. She is managing her disease for the first time thanks to advances in desmoid tumor treatment and the advocacy of the DTRF.
