Since surgeries are no longer a front-line treatment for most desmoid tumors, they have become less frequent. When surgeries are appropriate, fresh desmoid tissue samples can be collected for research. To facilitate this collection, the DTRF partners with the Rare Cancer Research Foundation’s initiative: Pattern.org.

How to Donate Tissue
All you need to do is fill out an online consent form prior to surgery at Pattern.org and they will handle all the arrangements, working with your surgical institution.
There is no cost or any additional effort on your part to participate. Due to several regulatory issues involved with living tissue, Pattern.org can only accept tissue from the contiguous United States.
