Familial adenomatous polyposis associated with gastrointestinal stromal tumor: Report of a case.

Here, we discuss one case of primary mesenteric fibromatosis in a young male patient who presented to us with chronic abdominal pain after he was treated for acid peptic disease for the same at a local hospital. This case shows how management of this disease can be delayed due to unfamiliarity among clinicians of this condition.

Desmoid tumors are benign, but may infiltrate adjacent structures. Rarely severe and fatal, clinical problems are seen if mesenteric vessels or abdominal organs are involved. Ileum is one of the rare sites and literature search regarding this yielded scant results. Hence, we decided to report this case of aggressive desmoid tumors of the abdominal wall infiltrating ileum.
