Summary

Despite the benign histologic appearance and negligible metastatic potential, desmoid tumors can be locally aggressive, invading into adjacent structures and organs. We report an unusual case of desmoid-typefibromatosis causing the death of an otherwise healthy individual by rupturing the splenic artery.
