Dr. Reineke Schoot is a pediatric oncologist at the Princess Máxima Center in Utrecht, The Netherlands. She is a group leader in drug development for patients with solid tumors, with particular expertise in sarcomas. Dr. Schoot is principal investigator of several clinical trials, including studies with registration intent.
In collaboration with Dr. Michela Casanova of Istituto Tumori Milano, she is leading the development of the OCTOPUS platform trial, a master protocol comprising multiple sub-trials focused on the treatment of pediatric patients with soft tissue sarcoma. This research is conducted within the EpSSG (European paediatric Soft tissue sarcoma Study Group) and the ITCC (Innovative Therapies for Children and adolescents with Cancer) network. One of the first sub-trials within OCTOPUS is dedicated to pediatric patients with desmoid tumors.
